Chicago foreclosures down in January

Saw a blurb in Crain's regarding foreclosures in the Chicago area being down in January. Seems that there was only a .7% increase in foreclosures from December to January. This after a 47% jump in December. Just another tidbit supporting the fact that the Chicago real estate market should be solid '06.

My commentary, why are the different monthly housing reports front-page news?

Do you know where Chicago residents can get updated lists of foreclosure auctions, specifically from south loop to Wrigleyville?

The best source I know of is put out by Law Bulletin Publishing. I'm guessing it's on the Internet now, but I've always gotten a hard copy in room 802 at Daley Center. They publish a biweekly list of every foreclosure case in Illinois.
