Agents dropping

Here's a piece about the unsurprising reality of fewer folks becoming real estate agents as the market cools...no surprise right. What do agents and mortgage brokers do when the market slows? I played golf with an agent and a mortgage broker this week and they said essentially market. Anybody else? It's got to be tough sledding for some people now.

Peter,

What has your experience been with clients buying/selling using discount brokers (ZipRealty) or a flat-fee MLS (BergProperties)? Do the clients seem as happy as those using full fee brokers? Thanks.

Ryan,

I've had multiple deals in both of those scenarios. I thought Zip, although a "discount" broker, did everything any other broker/agent did. I was just looking at their Website and they don't come out and say their exact fee...I thought they were 4% on a sale around the Chicago area.

Many people are offering the flat-fee MLS listing...it is what it is. I had a woman recently sell using this method though the Seller must do a lot of work in this situation.

Give me a call if you want to chat further.
