Closing Real Estate in Chicago: Mary "Zillow" Umberger

Is it just me or does Mary Umberger in the Trib.'s real estate section write about Zillow.com about every other week?

I agree and don't understand why Umberger (whose columns I generally enjoy) doesn't spread the wealth. Consumers I meet have never heard of Zillow... or never use it. And I meet clients and consumers face to face every week!

So it's no suprise Zillow's "widley popular" if it's on the front page of a great real estate sectoion all the time.

The funny thing is all the head-banging about the accuracy of "zestimates". Duh... Hell, local, physical appraisals ordered by mortgage brokers don't mean Dinky Doughnuts sometimes in the open market!

Zillow does some cool things (I can put my listings on it and the Make me Move is cool, if not a stupid waste of time), but why all the free pub Mary?
